I’ve been working with wood in one form or another since 1996. I’ve been a student at The Northwest School of Wooden Boatbuilding and at College of the Redwoods’ Fine Woodworking Program, built traditional wooden boats, remodeled old houses and framed new ones, taught hand tool woodworking to children, built custom cabinets and constructed solid wood furniture using primarily hand tools.
Since moving to San Diego in 2005, I have worked continuously as a finish carpenter and cabinet maker. My projects have ranged from simple one day door hanging jobs, through bookshelves and small tables, to multi-month, whole house jobs, where I hung doors, ran trim, built wainscoting, installed cabinets and constructed custom closets. On larger jobs, where being a solo operator might be a disadvantage, I’m lucky to be able to work with my brother, Alex, who’s also an experienced carpenter, licensed contractor, and has an architecture degree.
My background in many facets of the craft, my love of wood and tools, and the pleasure I get from my work can all be an advantage to you when looking for a contractor. Whether you need simple trim work done or a diminutive, dovetailed cabinet built to hold a family treasure, I hope you’ll contact me to see if my skills and your project are a good fit.
I appreciate your visit,
