People often ask me exactly what a finish carpenter does. The simple answer is that my work involves any wood, painted or stained, which will be seen after the house is “finished.” Please look at the pictures on my gallery page to see some recent projects.

To be more specific:

- Any and all forms of trim: baseboard and shoe molding, door and window casing,
crown molding, picture rail, chair rail.

- Installation of doors: Regular passage doors, entry
doors, bifold and sliding closet doors, French doors,
pocket doors. I put in pre-hung doors but prefer to hang
them from scratch. You'll definitely notice the difference.
I can also build custom doors or veneer slabs to match
  your project.

- Cabinet building and installation.

- Closet build-outs: From the standard pole with a shelf
above to custom built cubbies, shelves, and drawers.

- All forms of exterior trim: Door and window trim, porch columns, decks and
railings, trellises, wooden shade structures, even custom play structures.

- Stair trim out: Finish treads and risers, skirt boards, and railings.

- Mantels.

- Built in or free standing bookshelves of all kinds.

- Wall and ceiling treatments: wainscot, bead-board paneling, coffered ceilings,
  beam work.
